The bustling fishing town of Whitby has become one of the North East's favourite attractions for many reasons, including its beautiful coastline, fabulously rich history and wonderful people.

Whitby and the surrounding areas are popular filming locations for TV series and documentaries. Ditto itself has been used in a restaurant scene in the well known TV series Heartbeat which is filmed in the nearby village of Goathland.

The premises where Frank Meadow Sutcliffe, the famous 19th century photographer worked and developed his art can also be found on Skinner Street.
